Experiencia en Psicologia

En el marco del integrador de Psicología, en cuarto año los alumnos formularon preguntas para cada uno de los temas trabajados. Luego la docente seleccionó aquellas que desarrollaran el pensamiento crítico y el uso de habilidades de mente. El producto final fue un juego de preguntas y respuestas. Una hermosa experiencia, donde jugando logramos afianzar los contenidos y reforzar nuestras redes neuronales dejando de pensar exclusivamente en la memoria como única habilidad de pensamiento.

IGCSE Examinations

These weeks our 4th and 5th Year students are sitting for their IGCSE examinations. During those two years they prepare and sit for 7 subjects from 5 different areas. This enables them to receive the International Certificate of Education from Cambridge university. All students prepare these subjects and achieve the necessary skills for these exams. Critical thinking, weighing evidence and personal response are just some of these skills.

It is very satisfying to see the way our students are facing these hours of revision and of concentration . We wish them all the very best!

El viernes 28 se realizó en el campus del Colegio el día del los deportes o SPORTS DAY SECUNDARIA. El sol nos acompañó en esta jornada de logros y competencia, unión y amistad.

History Mind Maps

Fourth Year has created mind maps showing the events of the invasion of the Ruhr in the Weimar Republic. They went over them with their classmates in a informal learning environment. This helped revise and clear all remaining doubts.

Club de las Ideas

Llegó el evento final del Clubes de Ideas, un proyecto que integramos junto a 80 escuelas de todo el país. El objetivo es buscar ideas creativas a los problemas y pasiones de nuestros adolescentes y con ayuda del grupo, encontrar la mejor manera de comunicarlo. 
Felicitamos con mucho orgullo a los que decidieron pensar soluciones, enfrentar miedos e inseguridades y ofrecer una nueva mirada del mundo que los rodea.

Los alumnos de Secundaria estarán representando diferentes países junto a otras escuelas en el Modelo ONU que se realiza en la USAL.  Les deseamos que disfruten de esta experiencia de intercambio y aprendizaje en la resolución de problemas globales que afectan nuestro planeta.

Round Table Discussions in History

Long Discussions during the negociations of the Treaty of Versailles. Should Germany pay reparations? Must it be blamed for starting the war?

Some countries were just out to protect their own interests.  With Mateo as chairman, 4th year  acted out as spokepeople for the main countries involved. 

Multiperspectivity in History

We have found an amusing way to go over the way different countries felt after-the First World War. We´ve attached speech bubbles with different Viewpoints to characters of each of the main countries involved creating a variety of artistic digital artworks.   Click on the image to see each one.

Exploring multiple perspectives (which is known as "multiperspectivity" in parts of Europe) requires incorporating source materials that reflect different views of a historical event.  As Ann Low-Beer explains, "In history, multiple perspectives are usual and have to be tested against evidence, and accounted for in judgments and conclusions."

Los Mitos Solares

Los estudiantes de 4° año de Secundaria trabajaron los "Mitos solares" de la cultura griega, egipcia y mesoamérica prehispánica, con el propósito de entablar similitudes y diferencias.

La finalidad del ejercicio buscaba que los estudiantes sintetizaran la información en torno a la cosmogonía de las culturas mencionadas. Para ello investigaron y elaboraron síntesis a partir de textos de diversos mitos, documentales y ensayos.

Resaltamos el trabajo de síntesis logrado por los grupos de:

Mitos griegos y sus características.

Los estudiantes de 4° año trabajaron en torno a los mitos griegos y sus características. La finalidad de este ejercicio grupal buscaba que los estudiantes sintetizaran aspectos básicos de los mitos griegos y realizaran una interpretación del significado de dichos mitos.

Students of 3rd year have worked in groups and individually on tourism in Asia. They have focused on the tourism industry boom in Sri Lanka, and on the reasons why it is an attractive destination for international leisure and business visitors.

The research and power point presentations form part of the subject "Travel and Tourism".

Circle of Viewpoints : General Haig

Purpose: What kind of thinking does this routine encourage?

This routine helps students consider different and diverse perspectives involved in and around a topic. Understanding that people may think and feel differently about things is a key aspect of the Fairness Ideal. It is interesting to discover that a man that has been so highly scorned was highly thought of by his troops until the battle of Somme and that his infamous tactics had some justification.

Touristic leaflets

Students of 3rd, 4th and 5th, 

have been working on the production of Touristic leaflets, as part of the activities that are being carried out in Travel and Tourism.

The aim is that students get involved in the diverse marketing strategies of the area of Tourism. They have worked on the Logo and Motto of their own Travel Agencies, as well as on the brand image, They really enjoyed creating!!!

Mitos Fundacionales de Algunas Ciudades - Entablando similitudes y diferencias.

Los estudiantes de 4° año trabajaron en torno a los mitos fundacionales de algunas ciudades con el propósito de entablar similitudes y diferencias.

La finalidad del ejercicio buscaba que los estudiantes sintetizaran la información de los textos: “La fundación mítica de Roma” (Virgilio), “La fundación mítica de Tenochtitlan” (Mitos aztecas) y “Fundación mítica de Buenos Aires” (Jorge Luís Borges). Para este trabajo recurrieron a diverso programas para elaborar redes conceptuales y trabajar el pensamiento visual.

Fiesta de Fin de Curso -2015

School is over and we celebrated it with a general knowledge competiton in the morning. Axel and Sol played some music and we gave out diplomas for "best english speaker", "effort", and "outstanding helper". We had a great time.

Sports Awards

Se hizo la entrega de los premios Sports 2015 en el SUM.  Los deportistas recibieron premios en Hockey, Fútbol y Atletismo. El House ganador fue el equipo ROJO.

High School Musical 2015

On Friday, November 6th we enjoyed "High School Musical". We were delighted by the excellent performances of our students who sang, danced and acted showing not only how hard they've worked but also how much they enjoy drama lessons. Congratulations to them all!
